Short Bio
Sebastiaan Thoen holds an MSc in Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics from Delft University of Technology. During his first two years at Significance, as Junior Researcher, he has contributed mainly to projects on freight transport modeling. Much of Sebastiaan’s effort focuses on improved and more disaggregate modeling of freight transport.

Besides his work on freight modeling, he has built up experience with construction of SP designs and estimation of discrete choice models during multiple projects, such as Value of Time / Value of Reliability studies for the Netherlands and the UK and a Time-Of-Day study for the Dutch passenger transport model (LMS). Sebastiaan has constructed many D-efficient SP designs in Ngene and estimated many discrete choice models with Biogeme. Furthermore, he is an experienced Python programmer.
