Short Bio
Michiel de Bok works as a research leader at Significance and researcher at TU Delft. At TU Delft he is responsible for the MASS-GT freight microsimulation program and the supervision of related research staff, including the new to appoint post-doctoral researcher for HARMONY. He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from TU Delft in the field of transportation and planning. In his PhD-thesis, Michiel developed a micro-simulation model for spatial economic impacts of transport planning scenarios. During his work as a PhD-candidate, he worked for different quantitative consultancies (ABF Research and RAND Europe). At Significance, Michiel works on the development of various strategic transport modelling studies in freight- and passenger transport, for clients in different countries. In addition, he advices on the application of strategic models in complex policy studies.
